(AP) β€” Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly says he needs to do a better job of creating an environment in which players know they are accountable after learning four are being investigated for suspected academic dishonesty. Kelly says he was shocked and disappointed to learn about the investigation.

ENDICOTT, N.Y. (AP) β€” Kevin Sutherland made Champions Tour history with his second-round 59 in the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open. He had 12 birdies overall, including three straight coming into No. 18 to set up the chance for a 58 until his bogeyed the final hole. The round also puts Sutherland atop the leaderboard at 13-under, one stroke ahead of Steve Lowery.

PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) β€” Brittany Lincicome (LIHN’-sih-kohm) remains the leader through three rounds of the LPGA Championship in New York. Lincicome fired a 1-under 71 to barely stay on top, one stroke ahead of Suzann Pettersen and Inbee Park. Pettersen made up ground with a 5-under 67.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) β€” Nick Watney sank a 20-foot birdie putt on 18 to take a one-shot lead over Brad Fritsch through three rounds of the PGA’s Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, N.C. Watney shot a 5-under 65 for a 14-under total that includes just one bogey through 54 holes. Fritsch also shot a 65.

MASON, Ohio (AP) β€” It will be Serena Williams against Ana Ivanovic (ee-VAH’-noh-vihch) in Sunday’s final at the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati. Williams dropped the opening set of her semifinal match before knocking off Caroline Wozniacki (wohz-nee-AK’-ee) 2-6, 6-2, 6-4. Ivanovic blew a 4-0 lead in the second set and trailed 5-4 in the third before completing a 6-2, 5-7, 7-5 victory over Maria Sharapova.
