Cooler Thursday With A Few Showers
The Carolina Wedge builds in which keeps us well below average on Thursday
Discussion:
We had impressive 24-hour rainfall across the Piedmont with a widespread 2-3” across Charlotte. Thankfully, not much rain is expected for the next two days. Thursday will be much cooler with below average temperatures as highs struggle to get into the low 50s. Friday does not look bad as we break out of the wedge and warm into the low to mid 60s. A stronger front will move through very late Friday into early Saturday bringing rain to the Piedmont, snow to the mountains, gusty winds and much cooler temperatures.Β We wake up to low temperatures in the 20s on Sunday morning with wind chills in the teens across the Piedmont and below zero in the Mountains.Β
TONIGHT:
Cloudy. Lows in the mid 40s. Winds: NE 5-10.
THURSDAY:
Isolated showers possible through the first half of the day. Wedged in. Below average temperatures with highs only in the low 50s.
FRIDAY:
Not a bad day! Warmer with highs in the mid 60s. Rain increases very late into the overnight hours.
WEEKEND:
Saturday AM a strong cold front will push through bringing showers to the Piedmont, snow to the Mountains, windy conditions, and a reinforcing shot of cold air. We only top out in the low 50s on Saturday with clearing through the day. Sunday morning will be very cold with a widespread hard freeze. Lows bottom out in the 20s with cooler wind chills. Sunday looks dry and cold with highs in the 50s.
Next week is looking dry with a warming trend through the week.Notes:
