A Local Church Is Giving Away Ten Thousand Dollars Worth Of Free Gas

CHARLOTTE, NC.–  Pastor Brian Carn Jr. says he knows what it’s like not to be able to afford gas.

“I was raised in a single-parent home, just me and mama. I know what it’s like to be riding in the car with mama and give her gas. So I don’t want anyone else to experience that,” says Pastor Carn.

It’s why the Pastor of Kingdom City Church on Brookshire Boulevard is giving away $10,000 worth of gas on Saturday.

“I’m taking this out of my own pocket and giving back to the community. KCC can get the credit because I’m the pastor of the church, but it’s really something I wanted to do to give back to the community.”

The gas giveaway is happening at a Mobile gas station down the street from the church on Brookshire Boulevard. Drivers are told to line up on North Linwood Avenue. Police will help direct traffic like they did last year when the church gave away $10,000 in gas at the same gas station to help people struggling during the pandemic.

The event is happening 11 am-1 pm.
