CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A portion of Interstate 485 in northwest Charlotte is shut down after a deadly crash Wednesday afternoon.
Charlotte Fire says one person was killed and another seriously injured as a result of the collision on the inner loop of I-485 near Old Gum Branch Road.

Motorists in the area are advised to take Exit 14 (NC 27/Mount Holly Road) turn left and head East for five miles, turn left onto I-85 North for two miles, take Exit 36 (NC 16/Brookshire Boulevard) turn left onto NC 16 head North for five miles to get back on I-485.
