Sunny, Comfy Start to Spring

Potentially heavy showers and strong storms arrive by midweek, but temperatures largely remain on the warm side.

Sunny skies and comfy highs have us off to a great start to spring across the Carolinas this Sunday. As high pressure builds in from the south, expect highs to return to the 70s to start the workweek on Monday. Enjoy the great start to the season while it lasts! The middle portions of the week ahead look messy.

A powerful storm system will rake through the Deep South Monday and Tuesday, bringing a potentially widespread severe outbreak to the region. That same system reaches the Carolinas by Wednesday afternoon. We’ll need to watch this storm carefully as we near severe weather season. Cooler air arrives for the back half of the week ahead, but highs should remain above 60º in the Metro.
