Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Deputies Confiscate Cell Phone ‘Stun Gun’ Found In Purse
CHARLOTTE — It looks like a normal cell phone, but look closer. The cell phone is actually a stun gun.
The weapon was confiscated by Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Deputies after someone tried to enter their facility with it in their purse. The cell phone stun gun is equipped with stun taser probes, an on/off switch, an LED flashlight, and a charging port.
More than 12 million volts of electricity can shoot through this device which could kill you. And, authorities say they’re difficult to detect which is why sheriff’s deputies are keeping a closer watch.
“Looks just like a normal phone and the only difference is its light weight. It’s a new way of hiding weapons,” says Sgt. V. Lackey, with Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Just a reminder, stun guns are prohibited on government-owned property, as well as school property.
