GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) β Madison Chock and Evan Bates hold a slim lead over fellow Olympians Maia and Alex Shibutani in ice dance at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Chock and Bates won the short dance with 73.95 points yesterday, just .11 ahead of the Shibutani siblings.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) β North Carolina coach Roy Williams says freshman guard Theo Pinson has a broken bone in his left foot and will miss today’s game against Florida State. Pinson was injured during the first half of Wednesday’s win at Wake Forest.
MIAMI (AP) β Josh Conklin was FIU’s defensive coordinator in 2014, while Matt House held the same role at Pittsburgh. They’ve essentially switched spots for 2015. Weeks after losing Conklin to Pitt, FIU announced yesterday that it hired House as his replacement.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) β Daytona International Speedway has extended its partnership with Rolex as the title sponsor for the annual 24-hour endurance race at the famed track. The new deal also gives Rolex naming rights to a new front-stretch lounge and suite level in the Daytona Rising project. The $400 million renovation β which includes redesigned entrances, spacious social areas and more comfortable seats in the grandstands β is scheduled to be completed next January.
