DENVER, NC– A Lincoln County deputy was reportedly injured after a police chase left three patrol cars damaged.
Deputies reportedly caught up with the chase on Highway 16, when the lead patrol car attempted to stop and turn around. This caused the two following patrol cars to crash into the rear of the vehicle causing a chain reaction that sent one officer to the hospital with a leg injury.
The chase later ended after the vehicle being chased, a van, crashed into construction equipment on a bridge over Lake Norman.
The two occupants reportedly jumped in the lake but were later taken into custody after they swam back to shore.
