LAS VEGAS (AP) β Former NBA star Lamar Odom is on life support in a Las Vegas hospital after being found unresponsive in a nearby brothel. The 35-year-old had spent four days at the location and authorities are seeking a warrant for blood evidence of drugs.
ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) β Capitals star Alex Ovechkin was benched for last night’s loss to San Jose after oversleeping and missing practice in the morning. Coach Barry Trotz decided Ovechkin would not play for violating team rules. The Capitals captain set his alarm for 8:30 p.m., instead of a.m.
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) β Buffalo starting safety Aaron Williams will miss at least eight games with a neck injury. He’s been placed on the reserve-injured designated to return list. He missed two games after sustaining the injury in the season opener, then aggravated it in Sunday’s win over Tennessee.
WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. (AP) β The Arizona Cardinals have placed safety Chris Clemons on season-ending injured reserve after he injured a hamstring in Sunday’s win over Detroit. He is the second player Arizona player to go on injured reserve this week. On Tuesday, the team placed inside linebacker Kenny Demens on IR with a torn ACL. Demens and Clemons both were special teams contributors.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) β Florida freshman defensive back Deiondre Porter has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest for allegedly firing a gun in the direction of his pregnant girlfriend. He’s facing four felony charges and is being held on $160,000 bond. The eighth-ranked Gators take on No. 6 LSU Saturday.
