
UPDATE: Police have released the identities of the men arrested in connection with three robberies in Gastonia and Mount Holly.
Leary Jerome Wolfe, 44, and Dawan Al-Taria Myers, 36, are each charged with three counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
The two men were arrested around 10:00 this morning after robbing the businesses at gunpoint and fleeing in a black Dodge Dart. They ran into a tree on Johnston Street after the third robbery and then ran. One was captured on Seigle Avenue and the other on Johnston Street.
Wolfe and Myers are believed to be the ones that robbed a Kangaroo in Gastonia and a Citgo in Mount Holly between 6:30 and 8:00 this morning, and then the Gaston Inn at 1400 East Franklin Boulevard in Gastonia around 9:55.
GASTONIA, NC — Police are looking for a man that robbed a Kangaroo in Gastonia this morning, and possibly another location in Mount Holly.
Police say the man entered the Kangaroo at 2483 East Franklin Boulevard around 6:30 this morning and pushed the clerk against the wall while showing a gun. The suspect then took her purse and a pack of cigarettes before leaving.
The suspect is described as a black male, around 6’2,” wearing a yellow shirt with a blue and black wrap on his head.
Police say there is a possibility this could be the same person that robbed a Citgo in Mount Holly just over an hour later.
