SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) β€” The president of the Chilean soccer association is taking a 30-day medical leave.

Sergio Jadue’s decision was announced by the federation on its website, hours after he denied he was resigning from the soccer body that he’s led since 2011.

The federation says its vice president, Jaime Baeza, will be in charge while Jadue is away.

Jadue returned from a trip to Brazil on Thursday. Upon landing in Chile, he denied he had traveled to Brazil or the United States to collaborate with U.S. authorities in their investigation of corruption in world soccer.

The head of Colombia’s soccer federation, Luis Bedoya, resigned Monday citing personal reasons.
