GoFundMe Account Set Up To Help Iredell County Awning Collapse Victims

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — A GoFundMe page has been set up to help raise $20,000 to help dozens of people who were trapped underneath a concrete awning at North Iredell High School.

It happened Saturday during a regional band competition. A truck hit part of the building causing the awning to fall on top of parents and students.

Officials have not yet identified the driver of the truck, but we do know 25 people were taken to the hospital.

According to the Go-Fund Me account, their injuries include broken bones, and a broken pelvis. The page also says one patient had to have her leg amputated.

So far, more than $12,000 has been raised.
