KUUSAMO, Finland (AP) β Norwegians Sondre Fossli and Maiken Caspersen Falla won the sprints in the first cross-country skiing World Cup of the season on Friday.
Fossli earned his first World Cup victory ahead countrymen Eirik Brandsdal and Petter Northug by a clear margin, 1.2 seconds.
Sweden’s Stina Nilsson prevented a Norwegian sweep when she was second to Falla, and held off third-place Ragnhild Haga.
