WINSTON SALEM, N.C.– One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting at Winston Salem State University early Sunday morning .
Winston Salem State University officials say the shooting happened around 1:20 a.m. Sunday in Lot W at the main campus.
The campus was placed on lockdown from around 1:30 a.m. to 4:50 a.m. Both the deceased and injured victim are believed to be students, according to university officials.
Officials say 19-year-old Anthony White Jr. was killed in the shooting. They say the other victim has been released from the hospital.
No further information has been released at this time.
