NEW YORK (AP) β Quentin Tarantino says police groups are vilifying critics of police brutality to avoid focusing on problems with police enforcement.
The filmmaker appeared on MSNBC’s “All in With Chris Hayes” on Wednesday to continue to defend himself from a backlash by police groups that have called for a boycott of his upcoming movie, “The Hateful Eight.” The police groups were angered by comments Tarantino made at an anti-police brutality rally in New York.
Tarantino said at the rally he was on the side of the “murdered.”
New York Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association boss Pat Lynch has called Tarantino a “cop-hater.”
Tarantino told MSBNC anyone who says there’s a problem in law enforcement “is considered by law enforcement part of the problem.” He cited himself, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio (dih BLAH’-zee-oh) and President Barack Obama.
