HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) β A defense lawyer says Pennsylvania’s attorney general denies any knowledge of leaks of secret material by her office or by the judge in the grand jury investigation of former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky.
Sandusky lawyer Al Lindsay said Kane made that statement during a hearing Thursday that was closed to the public.
Kane left the courthouse without commenting. Her spokesman said she was pleased that the judge handling Sandusky’s appeal was interested in hearing the facts.
Kane was ordered to testify after issuing a news release attacking the grand jury judge in the Sandusky case. She accused that judge of secrecy violations stemming from her successful effort to remove him from grand jury duties.
Sandusky is appealing his 2012 conviction on 45 counts of child sexual abuse.
