A former defensive end with the Raiders has been found guilty of murdering three men.
Anthony Smith, a former first round pick who played for the Raiders from 1991-1997, was convicted on three counts of murder.
Smith shot and killed two brothers in 1999 and stabbed another man in 2001. Prosecutors say all three victims had been kidnapped and tortured.
“The Nettles brothers were found with their heads wrapped in duct tape and Ricky Nettles’ stomach had been branded with a burn in the shape of a clothing iron,” according to a report from the Los Angeles Daily News.
Smith faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.
