Spurrier said yesterday by phone “it’s not my place” to be at South Carolina football games. He’s the all-time coaching victories leader at both Florida and South Carolina.
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) β The Champions Tour will stage the first leg of its playoffs at a new event in Los Angeles starting next year. The tour said yesterday that the PowerShares QQQ Championship will be played Oct. 24-30 at a site to be announced. Newly renovated Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks will host in 2017 and 2018.
ATLANTA (AP) β Andrew Wiggins tied a career high with 33 points, Karl-Anthony Towns added 17 and the Minnesota Timberwolves blew a 34-point lead before snapping the Atlanta Hawks’ seven-game winning streak with a 117-107 victory last night. Atlanta never led until Paul Millsap’s runner made it 107-106, but Wiggins scored the next seven points to prevent one of the biggest collapses in NBA history.
