NEW YORK (AP) β€” Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski (shuh-SHEF’-skee) is the first coach in Division 1 to have 1,000 career victories. He reached that plateau yesterday when his Blue Devils beat St. John’s 77-68 in Madison Square Garden. The fifth-ranked Blue Devils went on an 18-2 run down the stretch to secure the win.

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) β€” Virginia and Kentucky remain the only unbeaten schools in men’s major college basketball. The top-ranked Wildcats improved to 19-0 on Saturday while the second-ranked Cavaliers joined the ‘Cats at 19-0 with a 50-47 win yesterday over Virginia Tech.

ATLANTA (AP) β€” The winning streak of the Atlanta Hawks has reached 16. They beat Minnesota yesterday 112-100 for their 30th win in 32 games. The Hawks are now 37-8 on the season, seven games up on Washington in the Southeast Division.

OAKLAND (AP) β€” Golden State remains the top team in the NBA as on Sunday the Warriors won their 19th straight home game with a 114-111 win over Boston. The Warriors are 36-6 on the season and an amazing 14-0 against the Eastern Conference.

UNDATED (AP) β€” There were two All-Star games yesterday. In the NFL, Mathew Stafford of the Lions was named the Pro Bowl’s offensive MVP with 316 yards passing and two touchdowns, while in the NHL All-Star Game there were a record 29 goals scored with Islanders’ center John Tavares scoring four of them.
