Rowan County, NC — The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has identified the remains hunters found this month.
Deputies say the body was that of James Michael Beam, in July 2015.
Beam was reported to have not been seen since around Easter of 2015.
The 57-year-old lived in Richfield, NC. During the course of the investigation, deputies received information that Beam had been murdered, and his body disposed of.
Hunters found the remains of a human on the side of a hill, located off of Bringle Ferry Road near River Road on Dec.12.
Deputies arrested 35-year-old Jessie Rhodes Friday and charged him with murder.
Rhodes has been placed in the Rowan County Detention Center with no bond.
