Gaston Co. Murder Suspect Arrested in Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, NC — A man was found dead in the trunk of a burning car in Gaston County.Β CMPDΒ has arrested a suspect, saying the murder happened here in Charlotte.
James Evans faces several charges, including murder and kidnapping.Β Ranlo police arrested Evans WednesdayΒ night as he ran away from the scene of the burning car on Spencer Mountain Road.
The victim’s name is Norris Martin.Β Investigators say his death is connected to a shooting WednesdayΒ night on Woodland Circle in north Charlotte, but would not give details.
