Areas north and west of Charlotte that received 1-2 inches of snow will likely be dealing with black ice early Thursday. A winter weather advisory is in effect for areas north and west of Charlotte through 7am Thursday. Mostly cloudy skies are expected Thursday as the next storm begins to approach from the southwest. A major winter storm will overspread the area Thursday night and linger through Saturday morning. Mountain areas will see a significant amount of snow with a wintry mix likely for the foothills and Charlotte. Major travel problems are likely. The storm will clear out Saturday with quiet weather expected for Sunday.
