Press Release βΒ The Charlotte Department of Transportation is treating City streets today with salt brine for winter weather conditions.
Beginning at 10 p.m. today, City Street Maintenance crews will be operating on a βCondition B.βΒ This condition calls for 32 trucks,Β 64 crew members and necessary support staff.Β Crews will be working in 12 hour shifts starting at 7 a.m. Friday through 7 p.m. Saturday.
As theΒ winter storm moves through the Charlotte area, evaluation of streets and roads will be ongoing and work adjusted as warranted.Β Ice accumulation will be a big concern over the next few days.
Residents are advised to avoid traveling if possible and keep clear of heavy equipment/trucks treating roads.
