Chief Kerr Putney says drugs and illegal guns are leading to more home invasions and shootings.Β Putney says CMPD is stretched thin.
“More officers allow us that opportunity, to be a lot more proactive, to go after the right groups, the right people, those people who decided their careers would be crime,” said Chief Putney. “We can get those people off the street.”
Last year Charlotte also saw an increase in larceny, home invasion and sexual assaults.
