ROWAN COUNTY, NC — Deputies have arrested a woman they say shot her boyfriend in the face after a domestic dispute.
Sheriff’s Deputies were called to 740 Barringer Street in Granite Quarry around midnight on February 7th in reference to a shooting. There they found 22-year-old Justin Joyce suffering from a gunshot wound to his face. Joyce was taken to Winston Salem for treatment and is expected to recover.
After an investigation, deputies determined Joyce’s girlfriend, 23-year-old Cori Mayhew, shot him following a domestic related argument.
Mayhew was arrested and charged with Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill and Inflicting Serious Injury.
Mayhew is currently being held without bond.
