KERSHAW, SC — A death investigation is underway after a woman’s body was found decomposing in her home during a welfare check.
The Coroner’s Office was called out to 7248 Flat Creek Road around 6:10pm Wednesday after a deputy found a woman’s body inside her mobile home. Officials say the deputy had been called out for a welfare check.
The Coroner’s Office says the state of decomposition indicates she had been dead for some time. An autopsy is scheduled for today to help investigators determine the cause of death.
The victim’s name has not yet been released.
