House fire causes $15k in damages

CHARLOTTE, N.C.– A house fire in east Charlotte left two people displaced early Sunday morning.

Firefighters responded to the house on Parson Street around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, where they say smoke was billowing from the house.

The fire was controlled in 24 minutes and no injuries were reported.

Fire officials say the fire was caused by an accidental electrical issue and there is $15,000 in damages.

The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.
