CHARLOTTE, NC — Edwin Peacock is officially making his case to be Charlotte’s next Mayor.

The former City Council at-large Republican kicked off his Mayoral campaign Wednesday night during a rally at Sycamore Brewing in south Charlotte.  Peacock lost the 2013 Mayoral election to Patrick Cannon, who is now serving prison time on corruption charges.  Peacock says it’s now time for a new vision in Charlotte.

“Charlotte is looking for leadership in our government, and we need to bring fiscal responsibility back to Charlotte,” said Peacock.  “And we need to make us the most family and business city in America.”

Peacock only has one other Republican challenger so far.  Scott Stone officially launched his campaign earlier this month.

There are four Democrats in the running: third-term City Councilman David Howard, current Mayor Dan Clodfelter, former County Commissioner Jennifer Roberts, and Mayor Pro-Tem Michael Barnes.
