Hickory Shooting Victim Dies; Suspect Charges To Be Upgraded

The victim in Monday’s shooting, Tammy Cloniger, has died.

Officials say the charges against James Thacker are expected to be upgraded following Cloniger’s death.

HICKORY, NC — A man accused of shooting a woman in the stomach in Hickory is supposed to face a judge for the first time tomorrow.

James Thacker is locked up in the Catawba County Jail.

Officers were called to a home on 11th Street Northwest around 10:40 this morning.

Police say Thacker shot Tammy Cloniger during a domestic dispute, then took off.

Officers on the way to the scene spotted him, and arrested him.
