As it turns out, having a Starbucks nearby is a sure way to bump up your property value. The Zillow real estate website crunched the numbers, and they call it the “Starbucks effect”.
In short, when a Starbucks opens within a quarter mile of your home and given time to appreciate, properties with a Starbucks rise 30 percent more than ones without. And it’s not because Starbucks targets affluent areas; it’s because people want to buy near a Starbucks.
