Lancaster Man Wanted After Shooting

LANCASTER, S.C. — Police are searching for a Lancaster man who is wanted for Attempted Murder.

Markevius Harper, 23, is accused of shooting a 21-year-old man outside a home on 14th Street at around 11:00 Friday night.

Harper, the victim, their girlfriends, and others were at the home when an argument began outside which led to a physical altercation. Blows were struck, and Harper went to his car and produced a handgun. He approached the victim and fired one shot, which struck the victim in the left chest.

Harper left the scene in his car, which was described as a silver or gray Chevrolet Cobalt with a Matt’s Auto paper tag. The victim was transported to Springs Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to another medical facility for treatment. He is expected to recover.
