Police: 2 Shootings in NW Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person is in the hospital and another is being questioned after two northwest Charlotte shootings.

At 4:34 pm, officers responded to the 5600 block of Brookshire Boulevard in reference to an assault with a deadly weapon call.

Upon arrival, they located a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medic transported the victim to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Officials say one person at the scene was being questioned. There is no word if that person was involved with the shooting.

Less than a few blocks away, police say a second shooting was reported on McGinn Grove Drive. Police tell WCCB, one person was injured by shattered glass as a result of gunfire. The injuries were non-life threatening and the victim is expected to be okay. At this time, police do believe the two shootings are related.
