Wilson’s World: Bicycle Sport Getting Us Up and Riding our Bikes

Wilson stops in at Bicycle Sport to preview this Saturday's first learn to ride a bike event.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson was with Benjamin Cooley, owner of Bicycle Sport on Selwyn Avenue this morning where he was finding out more about tomorrow’s Learn to Ride event at the Marian Diehl Rec Center in Charlotte.

Dick Winters with Mecklenburg County Health Department and Jim Garges, Director of the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department joined Wilson to talk about this event their upcoming Open Streets event as well other events that are in the works with the departments.

On Saturday Bicycle Sports along with the Mecklenburg County Health Department and Mecklenburg County Parks and Rec will hold a Learn to Ride event for kids and adults that have never learned how to ride a bicycle.  The event is free and you don’t need to bring a bike.  Bikes and equipment will be provided.

The Learn to Ride event is Saturday, Mach 12th from 11am until 1pm at the Marian Diehl Rec Center, 2210 Tyvola Road in Charlotte.  For more information go the website HERE.
