Salisbury Homicide Considered Self-Defense, Two Facing Drug Charges
SALISBURY, N.C. — Officialsย say a shooting that injured two people and left another man dead was done in self-defense.
Police were called to a disturbance call on Rachel Lane in September 2015. ย Two people were located inside the residence with gunshot wounds. ย A third victim showed up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police say an attempted robbery had gone wrong during a narcotics sale and a struggle over the gun ensued. ย Detectives determined Pant, Tonya Wilks and Desmond Kirkland were all shot with the same gun.
After the investigation was complete and an autopsy was performed, officials say Pant was killed in defense of others and in self-defense. ย Therefore, no charges will be filed against the shooter.
However, Tiodomira Caudillo was charged with possession with intent to sell/deliver schedule II, attempt to sell schedule II and conspiracy. ย Wilks has been charged with conspiracy to sell schedule II.
