Wilson’s World: Arena Pro Swim Series at MCAC

The Arena Pro Swim Series brings professional swimmers to the Mecklenburg County Aquatics Center this weekend.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  This weekend the newly renovated Mecklenburg County Aquatics Center will be the 5th stop on the Arena Pro Swim Series.  Athletes from all over the country will be at the center for the competition.  The event is a FINA approved competition and a lot of the swimmers will be receiving qualifying times for the 2016 Olympic games.  This is a great opportunity to see current and future Olympic swimmers in competition

Olympic medal winners, Kristy Coventry and Tyler Clary took out time from the event to chat with Wilson as did Olympic hopefuls Matt Josa and Roy Burch.  Olympic swimming coach David Marsh talked with Wilson about the event and the improvements in the center.

After almost a year of updating and re-furbishing, the Mecklenburg County Aquatics Center was completed just in time for the event.  The center officially opens back up on June 1st for public use.
