North Carolina Man Facing Federal Charges For Allegedly Making Threats To Children

RALEIGH, N.C. – A Cary man faces federal charges after allegedly making threats to shoot or injure children, according to the United States Department of Justice.

The Cary Police Department arrested 46-year-old Kevin Edral Douglas twice in as many days while he was staying at the Extended Stay America Motel on Weston Parkway. He remains in custody as of Thursday, November 2nd.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children supposedly received multiple threatening communications that references killing children from a cybertip reporting service on the NCMEC official website. An investigation into these threats led police to believe that Douglas made the threats.

The complaint charges against Douglas say he willingly sent aggressive messages that contain threats to kidnap or injure children.

Douglas has an extensive history of communicating threats, dating back to around 2002 across at least eight different states. Additionally, he received a federal conviction for communicating interstate threats to the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. back in 2016.
