One Dead, Another Hospitalized After Single-Car Accident In Laurens County

LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. – A single-vehicle car crash in Laurens County killed one and sent another to the hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred at approximately 2:35 a.m. on Sunday, November 5th.

Police said a 2012 Nissan coupe was traveling south on Georgia Road near Hellams Road when the driver ran off the road to the right. The driver supposedly struck a ditch and then a tree.

Deputies said there were two occupants in the vehicle. The driver died as a result of their injuries. The passenger, meanwhile, was transported to a local hospital.

The severity of the passenger’s injuries remain unclear.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the collision. No further details have been released at this time.
