Cool & Cloudy Close to Weekend
A stray shower or two can't be ruled out overnight Sunday into Monday, but significant rain chances remain at bay over the next five days.
We hope you enjoyed the sunshine earlier today, because we won’t see a whole lot more of it this weekend. After a sunny start to the day, the classic Carolina Wedge sets up shop by Sunday afternoon as an area of high pressure pumps in clouds and cool air from the northeast. Highs will struggle to crack the 30s and 40s across the WCCB Charlotte viewing area for the second half of the weekend. A stray shower or two can’t be ruled out, especially to the northwest of the Metro, overnight Sunday into Monday as a cold front sweeps across the Eastern Seaboard.
Savor any drizzle we get Sunday night; significant rain chances remain at bay over the next five days. Abundant sunshine returns to the Carolinas to kick off the workweek behind the front. Highs will remain slightly below average through midweek in the 40s and 50s despite the bright skies. Medium-range model guidance suggests another rainmaking system will arrive by the end of the week, but rain totals don’t look particularly promising right now.
