A True Nor’ Easter Is On The Way For Sunday

A look at your weekend forecast and the next rain chance

A Wet & Windy Weekend Ahead

Another 50/50 weekend.  Clouds will build in by Saturday morning, becoming mostly cloudy by the afternoon. Despite the grayer skies and northeasterly winds, temperatures won’t budge much from the upper 50s in the Metro. A few showers are possible later in the day, especially to the South, but the rain largely holds off until after sunset.

Sunday will be a straight up mess. Widespread rain will build in overnight Saturday into Sunday as winds pick up from the northeast in a hurry. Gusts may top out over 30+ miles per hour as the storm’s core approaches from the southwest. Models have shifted the low-pressure center to the east again, which means slightly lower rain totals and cooler air for the weekend’s second half.

Despite this, a healthy 1-3″ of rain will likely fall across our 22 counties through Monday morning. Localized flooding, especially east of the Metro, is a possibility. Much colder and drier air settles in by Tuesday morning.

Saturday: Clouds build. A few showers late. High: 58°. Wind: NE 5-10.

Saturday Night: Overcast with scattered rain becoming more widespread overnight. Low: 47°. Wind: NE 10-20. Gusts: 25+

Sunday: Widespread rain. Windy. High: 53°. Wind: NE 15-25. Gusts: 30+
