MATTHEWS, N.C. – A Charlotte woman has been arrested after attempting to rob a Matthews bank on December 23rd, according to police. Matthews Police officers responded to Truist Bank on Fincher Farm Road off of Weddington Road. According to the press release, staff from the bank told officers that a female, later identified as Ariel Anderson had came into the bank and demanded cash. Anderson then fled the scene in a black sedan. Matthews detectives located and identified Anderson later that day. Ariel Anderson, 29, of Charlotte was charged with common law robbery and is being held in the Mecklenburg County Jail on a $10,000 secured bond.
