GASTONIA, NC– The Gastonia Fire Deparment responded to a house fire on Watkins Road Thursday afternoon.
Around 1 p.m. authorities say a neighbor reported that they heard an explosion and a mobile home was on fire.
Upon arrival, first responders say they witnessed heavy smoke and fire coming from a large RV that was parked near a barn.
Firefighters say they extinguished the RV fire in approximately 15 minutes but the vehicle was a total loss.
They were reportedly able to save the barn with only minimal damage.
