Meet Opal, The Oldest Penguin in North America
CHARLOTTE, NC — We’d like you to meet Opal, the oldest living female penguin in North America.
Opal turned 39 Tuesday. Β She was born in 1977 and the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore and was moved to Omaha in 1991. Zoo keepers celebrated with a special ice block cake filled with her favorite treats.
