BELTON, S.C. βΒ Police are investigating a fatal collision after a bicyclist was hit and killed by an SUV in Anderson County on Thursday.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at approximately 5:50 p.m. on Bethany Church Road near Dr Simmons Road.
Police say the bicyclist and a 2023 Chevrolet SUV were traveling west on Bethany Church Road approximately three miles west of Honea Path.
The bicyclist was struck from the rear by the Chevrolet vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Chevrolet driver was not injured.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating this incident.
