LINCOLNTON, N.C. – A Lincoln County woman has been charged with breaking into her elderly neighbor’s home.
The incident happened at the 3400 block of Highway 150 East of Lincolnton. The victim’s daughter discovered a window had been broken out of the residence and a television and money had been stolen.
During the investigation, information led detectives to Kelly Peterson, 32, of Lincolnton. Officials say the victim allowed Peterson and her boyfriend to come into her house to charge their cell phones and wash clothes.
On Thursday, Peterson confessed to breaking the victim’s home and stealing items from inside the residence. She was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering a Building, Larceny, and Possession of Stolen Goods.
