Wilson’s World: Hanging with Olympic Medalist Kirsty Coventry

Olympic Swimmer Kirsty Coventry hosts special event at Whole Foods this Saturday.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – While most Olympic medalists are busy training for the upcoming Summer Olympics, swimmer Kirsty Coventry is taking a a few minutes out of her time to meet with her fans this Saturday at Whole Foods.  This morning she was taking some time to join Wilson to talk about her upcoming meet and greet this Saturday.  They both had a lot of fun with cart cams, massaging kale and picking up carrot strippers.

Kirsty Coventry was born in Zimbawa and attended Auburn University where she swam competitively.  She has 7 Olympic medals and is not only the top individual female swimmer in the history of the Olympic Games, but she is also the top African Olympian with more medals that any African, in any sport, in history.

Before Kirsty heads off to Rio for the Olympics next month, this Saturday afternoon she will be at Whole Foods in SouthPark to talk about water safety, living healthy and a question and answer session with fans.  Tickets are only $5 and the proceeds will go to the the YMCA’s Water Safety Program.  Each year the YMCA holds water safety classes for children at the pools of local apartment complexes.
