A broad ridge of high pressure, that is bringing dangerous heat to the Central Plains, will shift to the east over the weekend. Hot and humid conditions will be in place Sunday with dew points in the lower 70’s in the foothills. Across the Piedmont we could be looking at heat index values as high as 104. The high country has the chance of seeing highs in the 80’s to lower 90’s on Sunday.
This trend of above average temperatures and humid conditions will stay with us through the early week. Rain chances will pick up on Tuesday to help cool us back down to the lower 90’s.
