LANCASTER, S.C. — Deputies say they arrested an accused heroin dealer in Lancaster. After a lengthy investigation, Jarvis Anthony, 37, was arrested Thursday at his home in Health Springs.
Detectives say Anthony tried to run from deputies but was captured at the scene. Once in custody, investigators say Anthony struggled with the officers. A gun, which officers say was in Anthony’s possession, fell to the ground.
Officers also say he dropped a backpack when he tried to run from the scene. Detectives say a search of the backpack and Anthony revealed the following:
52 grams of suspected heroin
0.2 grams of suspected crack cocaine
2.5 grams of suspected MDMA
2.5 grams of suspected marijuana
1 Alprazolam pill
$9,585 in cash
.22 caliber revolver, Glock .45 handgun, black powder revolver, shotgun shells
Ballistic vest
Anthony has been charged with the following crimes:
Distribution of marijuana
Two counts of distribution of heroin
Distribution of heroin within proximity of a school
Trafficking heroin
Possession with intent to distribute marijuana
Possession of Alprazolam
Resisting arrest
Possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime
