Mineral Springs Man Cleared In Fatal Shooting Of Burglary Suspect

MINERAL SPRINGS, N.C. — The Mineral Springs homeowner who shot and killed a burglary suspect will not face criminal charges.

Investigators say the homeowner shot and killed 17-year-old Marquies Waters early Monday morning.  Waters, along with Jacob Maye and Tristen Deese, are accused of breaking into the home on Happy Hollow Lane.

The DA’s Office says the homeowner did not violate state law.  Maye and Deese are both facing burglary and felony conspiracy charges for their involvement in this incident.
