Panthers Name Press Box After Long-Time Director Of Communications
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers have honored former director of communications Charlie Dayton by naming the press box at Bank of America Stadium the “Charlie Dayton Press Box”.
The announcement came on Friday during a breakfast in recognition of Dayton and the press box Staff. He will also be recognized with a pregame ceremony and bowl tribute during the game against the 49ers on Sunday.
Dayton, the director of communications until 2015, has been a part of the Panthers organization since 1994. He currently serves as the director of historical and alumni affairs.
Panthers Owner Jerry Richardson doted, “Charlie Dayton is simply the best in his profession. There is no one I trust more. He is the most selfless person I have had the pleasure of working with. The naming of our press box after him is an honor he has earned.
“Charlie is not only revered within the Panthers organization; he has the respect of everyone who has had the good fortunate of working with him.”
Charlie Dayton started his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1976 and has also worked for the Atlanta Falcons and Washington Redskins over the course of his 40 years in the NFL.
