Cooler Close to Weekend, Spring-Like Warmth Into Workweek

A few showers are possible over the next five days, but there won't be any high-impact weather through midweek.

Scattered rain and snow showers are moving out of the Carolinas this Saturday evening, setting us up with what will be a cooler but otherwise comfortable close to the weekend. Expect mostly sunny skies and near-average highs in the 40s and 50s this Sunday afternoon after most communities start the day below freezing. Spring jumps into the WCCB Charlotte viewing area to kick off February’s final workweek. Temperatures will top out in the 60s and 70s across the board on Monday, despite a few stray showers for your morning commute. A weak disturbance may bring clouds and a few more showers on Tuesday, but highs remain well above average in the 50s and 60s.

The warmest day of the week arrives on Wednesday as strong southerly winds take hold of the Carolinas. Highs will approach record territory in the mid-70s across much of the Piedmont and Foothills. A powerful storm system approaches from the west of Thursday. While the severe threat will be considerably higher in the Mid-South, we’ll want to watch this system carefully as it treks over the Appalachians. Much colder air crashes in behind Thursday’s rain and storms, but models suggest temperatures quickly rebound into next weekend.
